Is Ladakh too high for a honeymoon?
Not if it's planned right. We build two acclimatisation days in Leh (3,500m) before any higher destination, carry oxygen on every drive, and avoid Hanle (4,500m) on the first three days. Couples with no cardiac history are typically fine; we ask in the inquiry and brief accordingly.
What's the most romantic time?
Late May–early June for blossom, river crossings and unhurried passes. September for the clearest skies and apricot season. We avoid July–August's monsoon-edge weather and post-October when the lakes start closing.
Which property is best for a honeymoon?
Stok Palace in Leh for the heritage night, Nimmu House in Sham for apricot orchards by the Indus, Lchang Nang in Nubra for sand-and-river views, and Camp Pangong's heated suite tents at the lake. We've slept in every one.
How long should we plan?
Nine nights minimum. Anything shorter rushes the altitude. The sweet spot is 11–12 nights — adds Tso Moriri and one quiet day at Hanle's dark-sky reserve.
